Mounjaro Price Hikes - What you need to know

Important Update: Changes to the Price of Mounjaro from September 2025

From 1st September 2025, the cost of Mounjaro (tirzepatide) will be rising across the UK. This change comes directly from the manufacturer, Eli Lilly, who has explained that UK prices will be adjusted to match those seen in other European countries.

While the medicine itself remains exactly the same, this change may affect how much you pay for your treatment as part of our private (non-NHS) weight loss service. Below, I’ll explain what this means, why prices are changing, and what options you have going forward.

Key Points at a Glance

  • The increase applies to all doses of Mounjaro.

  • It will affect every provider—from online pharmacies to private clinics.

  • The medication itself has not changed—it’s the same active ingredient, just at a new price.

  • The rise is due to a manufacturer decision, not pharmacies or clinics.

Why Are Prices Going Up?

When Mounjaro first launched in the UK, Eli Lilly priced it lower than in other countries to make it more widely accessible. Now, the company has chosen to bring the UK in line with international pricing, which may be due to recent criticism from President Donald Trump.

Because Eli Lilly is the only supplier of Mounjaro, any increase in their costs automatically affects all UK providers. Pharmacies and clinics cannot absorb the significant increase in cost, as they pay more for their stock. That said we have looked carefully at pricing and have absorbed as much of the cost as possible while still mainitaining a viable service.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you’re taking Mounjaro privately, you should expect to see prices rise from September onwards—regardless of where you get your prescription filled. We will freeze our prices at current levels while stocks last.

This doesn’t mean you need to stop treatment, but it may be worth thinking ahead about your options.

We will freeze our prices at current levels until our remaining stock is used up. This will vary depending on the dose strength you are on, so we cannot predict how long prices will remain low past 1st September because it is a very fluid situation in terms of demand and supply of stock from wholesalers.

Your Options Moving Forward

1. Stay on Mounjaro

If you’re happy to continue treatment and the price increase isn’t a concern for you, you can keep going as normal. Our new pricing is below.

2. Order Before the Price Rise

If you are due your next supply in the first week of September,  we may be able to pull forward your review appointment so that you can purchase your next supply at the current price before 1st September. This is subject to appointment and stock availabilty. To rearrange your appointment, please use the unique link in your confirmation email.

3. Consider Alternative Treatments

If the new price feels too high, there are alternatives. Wegovy (semaglutide AKA Ozempic) is another GLP-1 injection that works in a very similar way and has helped many patients achieve excellent results. Switching treatments may be an option worth exploring. A recent clinical drial has demonstrated 17.5% weight loss with 2.4mg of Wegovy , which compares to up to 20% weight loss in clinical trials for Mounjaro.
